The Blauen lookout tower boasts a superb view of the Rhine plain, on which it is possible to make out the two parallel ribbons of the river with the Grand Canal of Alsace and the Vosges mountains in the distance. The bare summit of Belchen to the northeast is visible on a clear day, as are the Swiss Alps to the south.
