  The Michelin Guide's review
This neighbourhood presents a panorama of the urban evolution the city underwent under European influence as of the 19C. There are no remarkable monuments but enormous open spaces, such as Rameses Square to the north, swarming with traffic. Al-Gumhuriyya Square, which gives a similar impression of hustle and bustle, houses the gigantic Abdine Palace. In the west, Tahrir Square is the third point of the triangle and home to the Egyptian Museum. Ataba Square stands apart from the rest, opening onto Cairo's oldest areas.
