  The Michelin Guide's review
Aix has preserved a rich heritage from the period when it was known as Aquae Gratianae and attracted Roman patients. At the heart of what one could call a "Roman resort" founded in 1C BCE, this 9m/29ft-high arch was erected in memory of members of the gens Pompeia by one Lucius Pompeius Campanus.
