  The Michelin Guide's review
This 5ha basin dug by Carthaginian prisoners after the Battle of Himera was originally a fishpond. Over time, it turned into a particularly fertile orchard. After lying abandoned for years, the Giardino della Kolymbetra was taken over and managed by the Fondo Ambiente Italiano (Italian National Trust). Nowadays visitors can wander among the olive, prickly pear, orange and lemon trees, along the paths around the garden.
