  The Michelin Guide's review
This unspoilt peninsula is only accessible by boat from Mallaig. Purchased by its inhabitants in 1999 and managed by the Knoydart Foundation, which organises tours and expeditions, the peninsula is a paradise for those wishing to immerse themselves in nature. Inverie, the only village, is home to a pub, The Old Forge, which is famous for its ceilidhs, and Knoydart Community Hall, the hub of local life. Walkers, cyclists and kayakers will appreciate the remoteness of this rugged peninsula, home to one of Europe's few temperate rainforests.
