Kourion Archaeological Site

 Michelin Guide
 Well worth the diversions
Historical and archaeological site
  The Michelin Guide's review
The site is spectacular: an ancient city built on the edge of a cliff with the blue of the sea as a backdrop. You will first see the Roman theatre and, right next to it, the House of Eustolios (4C-5C), which was found to contain fabulous mosaics. A ten-minute walk away, you come to the former agora, not far from a grandiose palaeo-Christian basilica with columns and marble paving. This visit is best avoided during the hottest part of the day: there is no shade from the unrelenting sun.
