The Michelin Guide's review
It opened in 1984, but to call it a historic restaurant is misleading: Moreno Cedroni is one of Italy’s most innovative – as well as most talented – chefs. It was from this restaurant in Marzocca, a hamlet south of Senigallia, that ideas emerged which have found their way onto many dining tables across Italy and beyond. Today more than before, the Madonnina del Pescatore is a hotbed of innovation, which Moreno blends with extraordinary ease and good taste into the cuisine of the Marche region and his childhood memories, in a constant interplay between local traditions and gastronomic journeys, even as far afield as the Far East. The setting is a room overlooking the beach – home to the chef’s marine garden – and the sea, in an atmosphere of refined elegance. The service is orchestrated by the natural and gentle grace of his wife, Mariella, who creates an atmosphere of genuine well-being in the dining room, free from stiffness and formality – a place where you can relax and enjoy an extraordinary meal.
