History oozes from the walls of this lovely building, which has housed everything from a butcher’s shop to this discreet little bistro. Set just outside of the city centre, it has a charming, understated feel, while the stunning photos on the walls will really draw your eye. Modern, flavour-led dishes change with the seasons and are cooked with care and flair, covering everything from duck dumplings to superb guinea fowl accompanied by some of the best chips around; pleasingly, these also won’t break the bank. The delicious homemade bread is a must and friendly service rounds out the whole experience.
