Vejlefjord was founded as Denmark's first tuberculosis sanatorium by Dr. Christian Saugman in 1900 with a focus on good food, tranquility, room for contemplation, exercise, bathing and fresh air It offers modern style rooms, free Wi-Fi and panoramic Vejle Fjord views from the terrace. Thermal baths, rain showers and saunas are found at the 5.9 ft² wellness area. Spa treatments and access to the spa area is at extra cost and should be booked in advance. The restaurant features crystal chandeliers, a seasonal menu and views of the water. The restaurant serves both breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is always included in an overnight stay. Lunch and dinner are additions and table reservation should also be made in advance. Free private parking is found on site. Vejle is within 30 minutes drive, while Aarhus is 1 hour away.
