Useful information

Description

The busiest and most colourful street in the East Village still reflects its diversity. Between the hippie shops, tattoo parlours and trendy cafés, you can just about guess its anarchist past. It's hard to imagine that Trotsky had a printing shop here in 1917! Andy Warhol installed the Electric Circus on the north side (nos 19-25), in a building that has become a social centre.
