Description
Discovered in 1922, it is one of the biggest of the Gallo-Roman period and could seat 11,000 spectators on 46 tiered rows built over a series of well-preserved arched galleries, which were crowned by a temple. Notice a copy of a wonderful animal frieze (the original is in the museum) on the floor of the stage. Currently, the venue of the Vienne Jazz Festival.
