Description
The Romantic museum is set up in the quinta da Macieirinha. Notice the Anglo-Saxon appearance of this house, its sash windows and its park. It was here that King Charles Albert of Italy took refuge in 1849 after he abdicated and died two months later. The rooms are decorated with paintings and Empire style or English furniture. From the windows are pretty views over the Douro.
