Description
Much inspired by the Palazzo Rucellai in Florence, this is Rossellino's masterpiece. Inside there is the armoury, the library with early printed books and the Papal chamber with a Baroque bed. If the three sides facing the town are similar and in harmony with pilasters and entablatures, not so the fourth, with its three-storey loggia and hanging garden looking onto the sweeping landscape of the Orcia Valley.
