Description
The Philadelphia Museum of Art is one of the most significant art museums in the US. It is housed in a lavish Greek Revival-style building (1928), which opened for the 1876 Centennial Exposition. Today the museum boasts a superb collection comprising more than 225 000 objects in four major departments: Asian, American, European and 20C. A fine Art Deco-style building, the Perelman Building, an extension opened in 2007, presents photographs, drawings, costumes and temporary exhibitions.
