Parque San Antonio

Useful information

Description

To the northeast of this square is the Puerta de San Antonio, the work of Colombian artist Ronny Vayda. The vast esplanade displays four sculptures by Fernando Botero, including Bird of Peace (Pajaro de Paz), which was blown up by a guerilla bomb that killed and injured passers-by in 1995. Botero made a faithful copy and installed it next to the mutilated remains of the original, in a message of hope and resistance in the face of adversity.
