Description
This church will delight art enthusiasts. The south side of the transept, the only remains of the original church which collapsed in the earthquake, is a fine example of Manueline style. The carving on the tympanum shows Our Lady of Compassion sheltering with her cloak Pope Leo X , Dom Manuel, Dona Leonor and others.
