This manor protected by moats, a drawbridge and a rectangular guardroom, is tucked away in an idyllic setting. Associated with the romantic link between Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII, it was bought in 1903 by the American billionaire William Waldorf Astor, who restored it in sumptuous fashion and recreated the delightful charm of its gardens.
