Description
This museum in a handsome brick and half-timbered house charts the cooperage activity of casks and kegs that played a major role in the economy of Bergerac, the evolution of winemaking over the centuries and the different types of winegrowers' homes. One section is devoted to the town's urban development, and another to the history of river transport on the Dordogne: models, notices and old photos bring back to life the 19C port and barges.
