Description
One of three existing cycloramas in the country, the Atlanta Cyclorama has been entirely restored and installed in a new building, in the Atlanta History Center. The original painting, some 15,000ft², up until now never exhibited, is displayed with a slide show and figurines. It depicts the Battle of Atlanta, the Civil War standoff that broke the back of the Confederacy. Visitors sit on a viewing platform and watch the events of 22nd July 1864 unfold as the stage revolves.
