Planted in Vidalia’s original home turf and run by an alum of the onion-monikered restaurant, it’s safe to say Honeysuckle is all about keeping it in the family—and that’s a good thing. Inside, bold touches include artwork inspired by the chef’s tattoos, while white tablecloths prevent it from looking too trendy. Tuck into the bread basket, a delicious gesture filled with a buttery roll studded with ham and cheddar cheese; sweet zucchini bread; and a hearty beer roll. The menu leans American, but the chef's love affair with all things Nordic means items such as slow-roasted Icelandic cod are worth ordering. Veal sweetbreads tucked inside a pastry shell and finished with a béarnaise pudding sauce are decidedly delicious-if a touch decadent.
