Silicon Valley's expat community can't get enough of this South Indian-style spot, which draws tech workers for its weekday thali lunch combos, before catering to local families in the evening. There's even a party room for special events. Though the lunchtime throng can make it a bit of a free-for-all, the bungalow space is a pretty mix of serene aqua walls and vaulted ceilings. The kitchen excels with traditional dishes: smoky, well-spiced baingan bharta (eggplant), fork-tender chicken biryani that nearly melts off the bone into its confines of fluffy basmati rice, as well as aromatic lamb Chettinad, served in a spicy chili- tomato- and caramelized onion gravy. Be sure to order some fluffy naan to soak up every last bit of their outstanding sauces.
