You’ll need to wait (and wait, and wait) to get a taste of the much-coveted dumplings at the first Bay Area outpost of this acclaimed international chain, which has drawn crazy crowds to the Westfield Valley Fair mall since day one. With only a handful of reservations taken a month in advance, expect to cool your heels for anywhere from 45 minutes to two hours. Is the wait worth it? Depends on how much you love xiao long bao, the Shanghai-style soup dumplings that are offered here in outstanding pork-crab and utterly decadent black truffle variations. Bring a crew so you can sample the non-dumpling offerings as well: delectably spicy wontons, top-flight barbecue pork buns, springy house-made noodles and lightly sweetened black sesame buns for dessert.
