One of the best things about the New York City food scene is that you don't have to empty your pockets to eat well. Case in point: Bread & Tulips. It's cute, it's economical and it's very well-located. The menu is casual, rustic Italian, featuring a healthy roster of pizzas, pasta and simple, well-prepared entrées. Uniquely, each of the pastas can be substituted with gluten-free variations. Housed in the lower level of the swanky Hotel Giraffe, this warm and rustic dining room is dressed in wood, metal and exposed brick-with bright artwork lining the walls and decorative baskets doubling as lampshades. When the weather's right, you can sneak up to the rooftop for a cocktail, a limited food menu and a bird's eye view of the city.
