The Radler
MICHELIN Guide 2017
N. 2375 Milwaukee Ave., Chicago 60647
From $25 to $49

With around 20 suds on tap and more than 95 bottles to sample, The Radler is everything you want in a beer hall. The restaurant may be young, but the space retains an old soul thanks to communal benches that hearken back to the days of Bavarian biergartens. The enormous "Bohemian Export" beer mural that commands guests' attention is original to the building-a happy discovery during demolition. A stack of small plates on each table sends the message that everything on the menu is meant for sharing. Food here may be crafted with drinking in mind, but that does not undermine its delicious creativity. Try the deep-golden pork loin schnitzel with bacon-braised lentils, dried Mission figs, and smoky cream sauce, balanced with a light green salad and charred lemon.
