This charming Greenpoint restaurant used to be a butcher shop, as evidenced by the glass-enclosed meat case built into the end of its stylish bar. The rustic space now houses a lively open kitchen, great music, and jumbo windows that look out over the neighborhood, offering prime people-watching. Most importantly, though, Cherry Point is home to food and drink compliments of Chef Julian Calcott and wine and cocktail aficionado, Garret Smith. Tender grilled oysters are laced in an excellent, smoky Hollandaise with roasted, blackened lime. Then crispy and supremely fresh local baby greens are elevated to noteworthy salad status with pristine anchovies. A nightly special featuring a juicy, bone-in pork chop is rubbed with koji and laced with chimichurri.
