This charming Greenpoint restaurant used to be a butcher shop, as evidenced by the glass-enclosed meat case built into the end of a lively and very stylish bar. The rustic space now houses a buzzing open kitchen, great music, and jumbo windows that look out over the neighborhood, offering prime people-watching. Most importantly, though, Cherry Point is home to some luscious cooking compliments of Chef Julian Calcott. Speaking of which, tender grilled oysters are laced in an excellent, smoky Hollandaise with roasted and blackened lime. Then crispy and supremely fresh local baby greens are elevated to noteworthy salad status with pristine anchovies. Close out over a nightly pork chop special, rubbed with koji and accompanied by chimichurri.
