This typical Bilbao “botxero” opened its doors in 1878 with the name of Bar Colón. Today, following its impressive renovation which has seen it retain much of its authentic character, it is one of the most interesting restaurants in the city’s old quarter, with a beautiful bistro-style interior providing the backdrop for an impressive à la carte that features Bilbao’s most representative and typical dishes – all presented with a contemporary flair. Don’t leave without trying the delicious grilled prawns (“gambas a la plancha”)!
