René Brienen feels completely at home on the River Maas. In this former ferry house café, the view of the river is magnificent, making a seat on the terrace an absolute must. Here, the experienced chef serves generous dishes highlighting regional ingredients, such as asparagus and Livar pork, which add character to the plate. Classic style and the occasional surprising twist complete the picture.
Chef Brienen likes to cook his dishes at low temperatures on the Big Green Egg grill – his trout in hay is particularly delicious. A handy app is available to help you choose an accompanying wine, while the excellent cheese selection is well worth sampling if you have any room after your meal.
If you’re looking for a light meal or a snack, try the light bites menu in the bar area.- MICHELIN guide inspectors
