This simple (yet always full!) restaurant occupying an old house in Santiago’s historic centre is run by a friendly couple with the husband in the kitchen and his wife in charge of the dining room. The culinary focus is clear here: a concise menu of updated traditional dishes with special attention paid to fish (bream, John Dory, sea bass, scorpion fish, turbot etc) that the chef often serves whole, baked in the oven on a bed of potatoes (“patatas panaderas”). Other signature dishes include the rice with lobster and the octopus “a la mugardesa” stew with orange alioli.
