The Michelin Guide's review
Founded in 1340, and rebuilt between 1671 and 1760, this is the only Oxford college in which the architectural styles have been harmonised. The Front Quadrangle, has cloisters on three sides and the hall and chapel on the fourth. The Classical chapel, is 30 m high, and has a ceiling by James Thornhill (who decorated the dome of St Paul's cathedral in London). Behind the north quad is Hawksmoor's library.
