Piotrkowska Street
Michelin Guide
Well worth the diversions
Civil and military monument
The Michelin Guide's review
The backbone of Lódź, Ulica Piotrkowska, is 4km long and lined by beautiful bourgeois residences; its central part is closed to traffic. Its 19C architecture is inspired by the neo-Gothic, neo-Renaissance, neo-Baroque and Art Nouveau styles, which apply to factories and industrial residences. The site of never-ending animation, each of these buildings is more interesting than the next. Don't miss the Textile Museum (no 282).
