The Michelin Guide's review
This castle with a feudal appearance, which dates back to the 9C, was restored in 1606 and gradually modified. The watchtower collapsed in 1984, bringing down with it part of the north wing of the seigneurial residence, which was rebuilt in 2005. Facing this, on the other side of the moat irrigated by the Yser River, lies one of the very rare examples of Flemish Renaissance gardens. In this space, which was magnificently restored in 2018, horticulture and contemporary art converge.
