The Michelin Guide's review
Rising up out of Éperlecques Forest is this 22m-tall bunker, built by the Germans as a launch pad for the V2 missiles intended to destroy London. On 27 August 1943, 185 British Flying Fortresses dropped tonnes of bombs onto the bunker, rendering it useless, but at the price of the lives of numerous deportees working there. After this episode, the bunker was extended and used as a liquid oxygen factory. A circuit with recorded sound points gives an insight into the Third Reich's terrifying "secret weapons".
