Pleasantly shaded and laid out like a Mediterranean avenue, the Promenade is fronted by the Imperial Gardens, a dazzling splash of colour in summer, and magnificent Regency houses. To the south is Montpellier Walk, whose mid-19C shop fronts are divided up by Greek caryatids. The road terminates in the colonnade and dome of Montpellier Spa, now Lloyds Bank.
