The Michelin Guide's review
From 1942-1943, this former theatre was used as a transit camp for Jews before they were sent to the death camps. A memorial and exhibition recall these events. Opposite, n° 27 is home to the National Holocaust Museum. During the Second World War, close to 600 children were brought to this school to shelter behind its walls. Inside, temporary exhibitions and conferences are held on the themes of persecution and the need for commemoration.
