- Paradou offers a bit of Provence and a welcome respite from the spate of gargantuan, too-cool-for-school dining halls populating the Meatpacking District. Here, a casual yet energetic crowd revels in the carefree, distinctly French spirit while relaxing over crisp glasses of champagne and supping on plates of foie gras or bowls of moules du jour. Most guests choose to head to the patio which doubles Paradou's seating capacity, but the intimate dining room is lovely as well. Regardless of your seat, the menu offers classic cooking, as in lamb ribs drizzled with truffle honey; sides such as cassoulet beans showered with herbed breadcrumbs presented in a cast iron skillet; and finales such as warming apple crêpes spiked with Calvados.
