- Remarks
- Fine fare is rare in these parts, so Ovest Pizzoteca's (of the lauded Luzzo's) is now firmly ensconced into Chelsea's Club Row. Open garage doors cede a glimpse of this chic, modern warehouse with a cement bar, industrial lighting, and a wooden ceiling. From the back of the large, spare dining room, a wood- and gas-burning oven crackles until first light. Ravenous revelers and diners of all stripes follow the alluring aromas of pies and panini, like the Peppino with prosciutto cotto, artichokes, and goat cheese. Expect tasty treats like polpettine —four plump, juicy meatballs bathed in an excellent, fresh-tasting tomato sauce with a sprinkling of parsley. The well-rounded menu goes on to offer sfizzi, antipasti, bruschette, salads, and pasta.
