- Traditional thatched pub owned by a local and his wife; its unassuming interior a real contrast to the quality of its cuisine. Appealing menus change constantly, relying on the latest seasonal ingredients to arrive at the door, and produce is organic, free range or wild wherever possible.

As always, very friendly and personal service from Imogen; even our 3 month old was made to feel welcome. Food was delicious and well presented as usual. Lamb torte is a favourite and the new twist with extra lamb a bonus.

Location is idyllic in an English village setting complete with duckpond. The interior is very olde English pub with wood fires. My wife had the set lunch menu which was a delightfully rustic ham and apricot terrine followed by hake which she said was even better than the wonderful hake I had in Cork last week. I had a delicious partridge as it seemed the perfect place to try game. Orange soufflé was a fabulous ending to an excellent meal
I could have had the partridge slightly less cooked and the soufflé slightly more cooked
