Finally got to La Becasse having wanting to for ages - and we were not disappointed. Went on a Thursday night (all the tables were full) and we received fantastic service and food - right from the start with a friendly & professional welcome, to the excellent 10 course surprise menu, gorgeous wines and a quick look around Wills fantastic kitchen. The surprise menu enables you to have a taster of all the dishes on the menus and what a great choice it was - each course just the right size, bursting with flavour and spot on presentation. All the courses were top class, but the Devon crab and the lychee mouse with crumble stood out. We went for the wine pairing and had 10 different glasses to compliment each course - excellent value at £60pp. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed wines that perhaps we would have not chosen, but they all worked with each surprise dish. A fantastic night was had, but the only puzzling thing was why Will Holland does not have his Michelin star back For lovers of fantastic food, wines & service La Becasse is a must - highly recommended.
