The food was stunning in every way - most of the produce came from the restaurant gardens, including the meat (I love being able to go and see where my food comes from before the meal with a wander around the gardens!) and the chef prepared us an incredible meal that looked and tasted spectacular. We had the tasting menu and wine to match each course, and the flavours and textures all worked so well together. By the end of the meal we were pleasantly full and hugely impressed with the taste of every course and the skills and inventiveness the chef had shown - even more so when he adapted the menu to fit a pregnant member of the party, and happily accommodated shellfish allergies and vegetarianism! The hotel is in a beautiful setting and has such a calm and relaxing atmosphere - it really was such a great experience. All in all, without doubt worth a visit, if only to meet the lovable sommelier Benjamin and his outrageous cocktails...

Christine and I having recently dined at Le Manoir aux Quatre Saisons and the Paris House (Woburn) both supported by Michelin starrred chefs, feel we are well placed to make meaningful comments on the restaurant at Fallowfields Hotel. The reception on arriving at the hotel and the attention afforded to us prior to the meal were both friendly and efficient. From this good start we were presented with an excellent menu choice with much of the content sourced locally and from the hotels own garden and stock. On our first evening following an extremely tasty chefs appetiser we both selected potted pheasant terrine followed by a Fallowfields pork dish. Accompanying both courses were flavourings very much enhancing the meal and beautifully presented. The following evening seabass and smoked mackeral starters preceeded a roasted rump of beef, the flavour and tenderness of which was much to savour. The attention to the diner was first class with the food in terms of both quality and presentation being of the highest order and very comparable with the two restaurants I referred to earlier.
