We recently spent six days at Gordon's Restaurant at Inverkeilor. (We are long-established users of the Red Guides, throughout Europe; restaurants with rooms are our particular favourites). We ate there every evening and found the food and service to be exceptionally good, which prompted us to let you have our comments. Excellent food, skilfully prepared and beautifully presented, was complemented by the service which, although very attentive to detail, was never intrusive and always friendly. In a small, family run restaurant such as this it must be difficult to cater for guests staying more than two or three evenings but they went out of their way to provide variety in the menu for us. Always imaginative and always delicious. We rate this establishment very highly indeed.

I have to say that Gordon's restaurant at Inverkeillor is a rare treasure in the general panoply of indifferent cooking to be found around Aberdeen (Yes, its much nearer Dundee, but that's how far I feel obliged to travel). The food is and has been consistently excellent on every visit. Wonderful flavour and texture combinations and a rare skill at cooking fish. I cannot rate it highly enough.
