Came up from London to celebrate a big birthday/ short break with family and friends for a few days. Was informed on very good authority that the Artisan restaurant was the place to dine in the area. As group of six with plenty of michelin starred restaurant visits between us all, I wondered what the Artisan was going to be about. In a word, fantastic. What a pleasure to eat food that was so inviting and cooked with exacting skill. No silly trends. Very well balanced menu. Some super ingredients employed. A note of recommendation has to be given to the service, which was outstanding all evening. In essence, as good a place to dine, as many of our London starred restaurants. We left the Artisan a very happy bunch.

Small restaurant that exudes quality in all aspects. The menu is well thought out, superbly sourced and prepared. The service is highly professional but not stuffy.
