- This cheery spot with a jaunty name has offered Wicker Park residents a hearty start to the day since 1993. Fuel up on eggs any style, banana and bacon flapjacks with warm praline sauce and fresh banana, or the super-stuffed breakfast burrito—though be forewarned that any one of these may send you back home for a nap. Come midday, treats like the chicken and pear club or spinach, golden beet, and duck confit salad will sate you until sundown, but keep in mind they don't serve dinner. The sunny room, offset by an upbeat staff, is fitted with yellow-painted furnishings and a dining counter that doubles as an excellent roost for those who are best left alone until after that all-important first cuppa'. Also try their South Loop and Andersonville locations.
