It is a typical "family run" business, solid furniture, clean and dishes that are uncomplicated, fresh and prepared with skill. The owner, who took the orders, spoke Spanish only, but that did not hinder him to praise the dishes with great verve to his various foreign guests, most of whom did not speak Spanish, and that was fun. I let myself be seduced by him to the local specialty "Putxero amb Pilotes". This was a combination of vegetables that were served around a soup with a cabbage in the center with chopped meat farci. (The on land version of bouillabaisse, so to speak). Since I am a stew lover ,this was a hit for me, especially since it ate away easier than you might think. But there were also lighter dishes such as the tasty cod dish that my wife took. We concluded with a solid piece of home made lemon pie. Add to that a wine list with many local wines to it and you know where to go eat when you are out and about inland of Benidorm
