We stopped here for a bite to eat and what a delight it was. Roaring log fire, welcoming staff and great food. The sandwiches are huge and very tasty and the chocolate brownie is a must. Really welcomng atmosphere and they allow dogs in the front of the bar which is a huge plus. Definately worth a visit.

Surprisingly good food! nearing star rated quality. very nice setting. cosy atmosphere. sufficient international wine list. dedicated staff. Definetely worth a detour. Confit of pig's head: exceptional!
The criticism touches only minor parts: ham hock canneloni: Delicious filling, wonderful saffron sauce. It would be a definite advantage to cook the pasta before serving. pork wellington: soggy pastry. Everything else perfect! Herb crusted fillet of beef: Wonderful meat cooked to perfection. The announced crust turned out to be a tasty parsley paste rather than a crust. Courious combination of broad beans, wonderfully tasty morrels and green asparagus (whoever thought of this combination?!). Perfect champ with lots of butter and a hint of marjory. Selection of Cheese: Delicious. But we asked to choose cheeses to accompany our red wine. All the cheeses were delicious but none of the one finally served matched the wine. Unacceptable wine glases considering the quality of the wines on offer. We would appreciate to have one person of service looking after us rather than five people having to ask where to serve the food.
