West Arms Hotel Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog
Llangollen LL20 7LD
"This charming traditional hotel stands at the cross roads in Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog, a tranquil village in the Berwyn Mountains. The original building is over 400 years old, its downstairs rooms with their low ceilings, cosy little corners, fireplaces and flagstone floors retain the old world charm of this country inn. The Bedrooms have been tastefully furnished to provide modern comforts, though in a style which is in keeping with the character of this warm friendly old hostelry. Wooden beams prop up the walls and support the ceilings, while brass bedsteads add the the historic atmosphere. The cooking is excellent, with an eclectic range of ideas and influences, making for an interesting, tasty range of dishes with presentation to match in our two rosette restaurant, or lounge bar. Our restaurant is steeped in history with an inglenook fireplace, low ceiling and original oak beams and is famed for it's high quality local produce, presentation, service and it's two rosettes. We have entries in the Good Food Guide as well as a recommendation by the prestigious Michelin Guide, Andrew Castle of GMTV and also Radio Cymru. Welsh Chef Grant Williams has cooked his way around the world and not only appeared on TV cookery programmes (most recently on ITV's Britain's Best Dish) but has also had the pleasure of cooking for His Royal Highness Prince Charles. The location is a major asset, the surrounding countryside is one of Wales' best kept secrets. Peaceful country lanes lead to hidden valleys and remote mountain heights with Wales's highest waterfall being nearby. There are Exhilarating walks and good pony trekking close by, together with private fishing on a two mile stretch of the Ceiriog River. The hotel is also well located for trips to Llangollen, the Dee Valley and the National trust's Chirk Castle"
