I was pleasantly surprised to dine at Hytra. It was a business dinner to impress a client from Zurich into closing quite a large deal with my company and I must admit that I am almost certain that the food played a very important role in his positive response to our propositions. It was the mystical atmosphere, the thorough and unique tastiness of the preparations, the warmth of the personnel. It was the subtle deconstruction of traditional Greek plates which at every stage has respected its roots and has brought our history through gastronomy into the new millennium. I fully enjoyed the experience (because it is not simply a meal). And having wowed my guest into a partnership at the premises of the restaurant I believe it has a depth to its philosophy which is unable to distinguish if one does not indulge into the culinary voyage which turns a name into a trademark. I will certainly be visiting the restaurant again, this time in the company of friends in order to get the relaxed version.
Only challenge was parking!

I recently traveled to Athens from Ireland and booked a reservation in Hytra. We went for the tasting menu with 2 glasses of wine, 2 gin & tonic and a bottle of sparkling water €161!! Probably the best value meal i have eaten. The smoked ham foam with carpaccio of cod was beautiful. There was an excellent body and mouth feel to the dish and it was full of flavour. The greek salad was outstanding! a beautiful interpretation of a classic greek dish. Little globules of onion puree, a spherical olive that burst in your mouth, liquid and flavour, cucumber caviar that tasted like cucumbers should taste, not like the supermarket varietys available in ireland.. presentation was fantastic in all dishes. Even the salt on the dish was excellent, I believe it tasted of thyme? The pandora bream, the red mullet with scales, pork with a delicate celeriac puree which had a hint of white truffle, and fantastic chocolate dessert with pistachio brulee. This was a beautifully designed and assembled tasting menu that burst with flavour. The dishes stayed through to the quality of the produce being used. Food worth going out of your way to experience! And the pumpernickel bread was gorgeous to
