This building, erected between 1897 and 1903, is the work of Berlage, the pioneer of Dutch modern architecture. The brick exterior is austere. Since 1987, this former trade exchange has been an arts centre, hosting a constant series of exhibitions, conferences and concerts. Its museum, the Beurs van Berlage Museum, shows how the building was constructed. Do not miss the view-point, from which there is one of the best panoramas over the city.
