- V. Sacara - Foro Romano I - 00173 Roma
In 338 B.C., the platform on which speakers stood to harangue crowds, where all the Republic's great orators spoke to the people, was adorned with the prows (rostrums) of enemy ships captured at Antium. The name stuck to the place where the facetious triumvirates chose to exhibit Cicero's head and hands, in 43 A.D. Later on in history, official ceremonies were held there and crowds gathered for free wheat distribution.
