St-Jacques Tower Interesting

Address
Sq. de la Tour-St-Jacques F - 75003 Paris
Remarks
The old belfry of the church of Saint-Jacques-la-Boucherie, built in the 16C and destroyed in 1802. What was once the point of departure for the pilgrims walking the road to Compostela is now a meteorological station, installed at the top of the tower, at a height of 52m. The statue of Blaise Pascal (beneath the tower) recalls the experiments on air pressure he conducted here in 1648.
