Pont Notre-Dame

Address
Pt Notre-Dame F - 75004 Paris
Remarks
Under the Romans, it was the great Bridge, but the Vikings burnt this first construction. In 1413, rebuilt on piles, it was the home to two innovations: it was the first bridge in Paris to be officially named and the houses that it carried were the first to have a number. Being an innovator did not bring it much success, since it fell down in 1499. It was then rebuilt and covered in houses that were all identical with richly decorated façades. The current building dates from 1913.
